As a rule, ELTEN protective toe caps are made of steel or composite material. Composite toe caps are lighter and can also be used in metallically sensitive working areas.
The resistance of protective toe caps is measures in joule. For protective shoes, the toe cap must resist to mechanical impacts of at least 100 J, and when it comes to safety shoes, it has to resist to 200 J.
Protective toe caps have to be integrated in such a way into the shoe, that they cannot be taken out without damaging the shoe.
